CURRICULUM VITAE
About
My interests lie in conceptualizing innovative design solutions that challenge the status quo and exploring how ambitious design can add value within real world constraints.
Since mid 2014, I have been working as a Senior Associate at SHoP Architects in New York. SHoP Architects is an internationally renowned multidisciplinary firm, at the forefront of architectural innovation having been voted in 2014 by fastcompany as the worlds most innovative architecture firm. The firm is currently leading the profession in its dedication to the value of good design, combining design methodologies, technology and financial structures to arrive at purposeful solutions.
Previously, I worked with Fender Katsalidis Architects for 7 years, in their Melbourne, Sydney and London offices. Fender Katsalidis is an Architecture firm that has gained a reputation as one of Australia’s leading design firms known for their dedication to urban density, and integration of art and architecture. Their residential projects were one of the earliest influences in the transformation of inner Melbourne to a vibrant mixed use precinct attracting residents to what was at the time predominantly a commercial hub. This ambition continues today with most notably Australia 108, the tallest residential building in the southern hemisphere currently under construction in Melbourne. Their art galleries most notably MONA in Hobart have been praised in their ability to transform place through design.
My experience is predominately in high-rise residential/mixed use architecture as well as large scale cultural buildings, however also extends to master planning of large inner city sites, civic precincts and the design of smaller scale wineries and cellar doors. These projects extend predominately throughout Australia, USA and Asia.
I have completed my Masters of Architecture, Bachelor of Property and Construction, and Bachelor of Architectural Studies at the University of Melbourne.
My strengths and passion are in the creative, solving problems through design, therefore I gravitate towards the initial conceptual stages of the design process. I have had extensive experience in competition work, concept design, design development, as well as approval process and town planning. The addition of a Bachelor of Property to my Architecture degrees has allowed my passion for creativity to be coupled with a greater depth of understanding of the developers perspective and has aided me in dealing directly with the clients, allowing optimal design outcomes that are in line with client expectation.
I am proficient in Revit, Archicad, Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, Sketchup as well as Vray and Artlantis rendering program, and all Adobe Creative Suite/Microsoft Office programs.
